MADRID, 9 October 2020. The Board of Directors of HISPASAT, the Spanish satellite communications
\noperator, approved the appointment of Jordi Hereu as the company\u2019s new president yesterday. The
\nappointment took place after an extraordinary Shareholders\u2019 Meeting in which the Sociedad Estatal
\nde Participaciones Industriales (SEPI), which holds 7.41% of HISPASAT\u2019s shares, proposed Hereu to
\npreside over the company relieving Rosario Mart\u00ednez Manzanedo.
\nA graduate in Business Management and Administration, Hereu also holds an MBA from ESADE. He
\nstarted his career in 1991 in Port 2000 and CILSA, linked to protecting the Logistics Activity Zone (ZAL)
\nof the Port of Barcelona.
\nSince 1999 he has held several positions in the Barcelona City Government, serving his functions as
\nthe council member for the Les Corts district until 2004, and as a councillor for Security and Mobility
\nof the Barcelona City Government until 2006. After two years in this last position, Jordi Hereu was
\nappointed the fifth deputy mayor of the Barcelona City Government and was the mayor of Barcelona
\nfrom 2006 to 2011.
\nAfter his time in public administration, Jordi Hereu co-founded the company Fledge Barcelona and
\npresides over IdenCity and Barcelona Plataforma Empresarial, both specialising in strategic consulting.
\nHISPASAT’s new president is now taking on a new professional challenge and commitment to reach
